Developer documentation

Start here for the moving parts behind AfroLink integrations: API keys, scopes, widgets, signups, tracking and security.

Core concepts

AfroLink partner apps represent a website, plugin, backend service or official partner property. Each app can have one or more secret API keys.

  • Use backend/server calls whenever possible.
  • Never expose secret API keys in frontend JavaScript.
  • Use the verify-key endpoint before saving plugin settings.
  • Cache successful widget responses, but do not cache authentication failures.

Implemented plugins

AfroLink Embed provides shortcodes, server-rendered blocks, widgets, optional Elementor widgets, live key validation, encrypted key storage and signup form support. AfroLink Partner adds setup-managed pages, directory routing, profile details, onboarding, pricing and attribution reports.

Widget surface

The combined partner widget can return banner, recent profiles, industries, countries, pricing plans and contact metadata in one request. Individual endpoints are available when a site wants separate rendering control.
